Did noted Republican Martin Luther King, Jr. devise the GOP’s “Southern Strategy”?
“Some Republicans gave up on winning the African-American vote, looking the other way or trying to benefit politically from racial polarization,” [Republican National Committee Chairman Ken Mehlman] said at the annual convention of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. “I am here today as the Republican chairman to tell you we were wrong.”

If the superdelegates don’t care about Obama’s recent controversy, what does that say about your opinion?
Obama is picking up key endorsements left and right. Recently, Obama has picked up endorsements from Joe Andrew, who was Democratic National Committee chairman from 1999-2001 and Indiana Rep. Baron Hill.
Obama now trails her by just 19 superdelegates, 244-263. This week, he picked up eight superdelegates while she netted three.
“Most of the superdelegates taking sides recently have gone for Obama, who has won more state contests.” – Yahoo

Can someone please explain to me about the watergate scandal in the 1970s?
Why did these people “break in” to the Democratic National Committee?
How are these tapes involved? Did Nixon know about them?
Why did Nixon resign?
Please tell me as a confused Brit about to watch Frost/Nixon
I didn’t go to high school…like i said i’m british, we don’t get taught american history.
Thank you guys this makes a whole lot more sense than what wikipedia was saying.

How are the Democratic platforms not equivalent to socialism?
I keep hearing from Democrats that they are for the free market, capitalism, etc. YET their policies say exactly the opposite. So please explain to how Democratic policies are not socialistic.
PS – I do not support the Republicans either.
Do you think McCain should be able to split advertisement costs with the RNC?
McCain currently splits funding for commercials with the Republican National Committee. He isn’t allowed to work with the RNC, but for some strange reason it is legal for them to pay for half of every commercial currently.
Do you think this should continue?
McCain is restricted to government money. But the RNC isn’t. Worse the RNC isn’t restricted to a 2,400 dollar limit. This goes against all of the campaign finance reform that McCain says he fought for.
I don’t care that democrats can do this, they aren’t.
